About This Quote
The saying, “Dare to try again when you failure” may seem like the common sense statement it is. However, this quote is one of the most frequently misattributed quotes in history. There are two major variations of this popular saying floating around the Internet. The first variation was first published in the book “The Golden Sayings of the Ancients” by Sigrid Undset.
The author was actually quoting a Norwegian proverb that translates to “Dare to try again when you fail.” The second variation is more likely to have been inspired by then President John F. Kennedy’s famous quote, “Ask not what your country can do for you, ask what you can do for your country,” which has been attributed to many sources including Martin Luther King Jr., Winston Churchill and Thomas Paine.
